Hair premieres in São Paulo
The world famous musical is opening in São Paulo this Friday (13), at the Shopping Frei Caneca Theatre.
Hair’s first opening night was in 1967, in a little off-Broadway studio, now the musical is the symbol of a whole generation, representing the 60-70 “vibe”.
The play has been adapted and is signed Charles Möeller and Claudio Botelho and attracted over 100 thousand spectators in Rio de Janeiro. Hair is produced by Aventura Entretenimento (who also produced “The Sound of music”, “O despertar da primavera”, “Gypsy”) and sponsored by SulAmérica Seguros and Banco Volkswagen.
“We are still going through wars, and the conflicts are similar, scary and senseless as the Vietnam War. We are still living in a time of tabus and intolerance. The “Hair” anthem is still echoing”, explained Charles Möeller. The changes that were made to the musical are the lack of scenery, lack of formal choreography, a full frontal nude scene was added as was the direct contact with the audience.
