In August of 2010, the Jornal do Brasil shook the press when announcing that they would drop the press version to bet only on digital media. A little bit after a year, it seems that the strategy, seen at the time as innovative, is soon to be reviewed.

When the total migration was official, the lawyer Pedro Grossi, then vice-president of JB, left the position because he didn’t agree with the new decision. But he was rehired Nelson Tanure, that controls the Docs of Investments, responsible holding for the paper.

In an interview to the O Repórter, Grossi confirmed that he intends to articulate the return of the press for the beginning of 2012. “Starting next week, I assume my functions with Dr. Angela Moreira [director-president] and start the surveys of market to know if it’s possible to come back with the paper to the newsstands”, he commented.

"I’ll go to the advertising market and if they understand that the JB is missed by Rio, we can be back on the first 15 days of March of 2012. Rio cannot have only two groups of information. JB still had space."

When he worked on the traditional model, emphasizes O Repórter, the paper from Rio had around 120 collaborators in the editorial office. Actually, something around 10 people work on the update of the website.
