Sky subscribers demand inclusion of Fox Sports

Although Fox Sports hasn´t launched yet, the channel is already facing some difficulty in the country, with most network providers refusing to add Rupert Murdoch’s channel to their programming. The subscribers are now involved, and have launched a petition in order to get Sky to add the channel to its packages.
According to the document, “millions of sports lovers want to watch Fox Sports and no backstage issues or broadcasting issues can change that”.
“We ask that backstage issues don’t interfere with the negotiations. We, the viewers who signed up with SKY Brasil, want Fox Sports. One more sports channel on our TVs without us having to switch providers in order to get it”, they add. “We don’t want to be harmed because of ”issues that are out of our control”, which is to be able to have one of the best sports channel in world on SKY Brasil.”
The reason why the providers don’t want to sign up the channel is that Fox Sports is the only channel who detains the broadcasting rights to the Copa Libertadores and Copa Sul América, which SKY and NET consider unfair.
